Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Astro Symbols for Google Docs handles information when you install or use the add-on.

1. What the service does

Astro Symbols is a Google Docs editor add-on that lets users search, copy, and insert astrological symbols into the currently open Google Docs document from a sidebar interface.

2. Information the service processes

The service is designed to minimize data handling. Depending on how you use it, the service may process:

  • the currently open Google Docs document, only to insert symbols into that document at your request;
  • user preference data stored through Google Apps Script user properties, such as insertion mode, favorites, recent symbols, and font preference;
  • technical logs generated by Google Apps Script and Google Cloud for debugging and operational monitoring.

3. Information the service does not intentionally collect

The current version of the service is not designed to sell personal data, build advertising profiles, or sync your document contents to external analytics or marketing systems operated by us.

4. How information is used

Information handled by the service is used only to:

  • display and operate the add-on inside Google Docs;
  • insert symbols and related text into the document you are editing;
  • remember per-user settings such as favorites, recent symbols, spacing mode, font preference, and presentation mode;
  • maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the service.

5. Storage and retention

User preferences are stored using Google Apps Script PropertiesService on a per-user basis. Document content is processed in the context of the open document and is not intentionally retained by the service beyond what is required for the requested insertion action and any logging provided by Google infrastructure.

Preference data is retained until it is overwritten, deleted from the underlying Apps Script environment, or the service is discontinued.

6. Sharing of information

We do not intentionally share document content or user preference data with third parties for advertising purposes. The service runs on Google Workspace, Google Apps Script, and Google Cloud infrastructure, so data may be processed by Google as part of providing those services.

7. Security

The service relies on the native security controls of Google Workspace, Google Apps Script, and Google Cloud as the primary foundation for operation. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Your choices

You can stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the add-on. You can also stop storing updated preferences by no longer using the service.

9. International use

The service may be accessed from different countries and may rely on infrastructure operated in multiple jurisdictions by Google and its providers.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when published at the then-current policy URL, unless a later effective date is stated.

11. Contact

For privacy-related questions, support requests, or deletion inquiries, use the private support channel or the contact method listed in the Google Workspace Marketplace configuration.
